Signs of Termite Damage
Posted on October 23, 2020These critters are busy throughout the year. And the fact that they’re busy means that they’re ‘busy’ destroying somebody’s valuable property. Although you may have high regard for diligent workers, these pests are just not the type you want in your home.
HERE ARE THE SIGNS:
- MUD TUNNELS OR MUD LEADS - One of the most common signs of termite infestation is narrow tunnels made of mud and positioned outside on walls, bricks, concrete slabs and other dense structure materials.
- ARBOREAL NEST - Check for termite nests that look like growth on trees. They may be formed by non-destructive or timber-feeding termites.
- DAMAGE WOODS - Is sure-shot signs of termites.
- SWARMERS - Look for a swarm of flying ants near indoor lights or windows still. Swarmer inside the building generally indicate active infestation
- FRASS - Also known as termite droppings, frass is indicative of termite infestation. This looks like sawdust on the floor , windows sill, etc.
- PILES OF WINGS - The wings shed by swarmers indicate that termites have entered the next stage of development.
- NOISE - You can also identify termites by their noise, especially in creaks and timber. They typically make noise when feel disturbed and sounds similar someone banging head on the wood
